All Koreans Called upon to Defend Peace
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should unite as one under the banner of "By our nation itself" and decisively frustrate the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak group's moves for a war of aggression by dint of national unity and wage a courageous struggle for ensuring durable peace on the Korean Peninsula and thus vigorously advance the cause of independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.

Defending peace on the Korean Peninsula is a main precondition for achieving the independent reunification and peace and prosperity as early as possible by meeting the challenge of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad and foiling their obstructive moves, the article notes, and goes on:

Neither the improved inter-Korean relations nor the peaceful reunification of the country can be expected under the situation where the foes of peace and reunification have become undisguised in their play with fire and confrontation with the DPRK.

In case another war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula, it is bound to develop into a nuclear war and put the nation's existence at peril.

The country's peace and reunification can be achieved only when the Koreans shatter the U.S. and the south Korean warmongers' dangerous moves to escalate the military tension on the peninsula and launch a war of aggression against the DPRK.

Peace can never settle on the land of Korea nor can the nation be free from the danger of a war as long as the U.S. military presence and domination over south Korea go on.

The independent reunification of the country and national prosperity, the cherished desire of the Koreans, are sure to be achieved only when all of them decisively frustrate the moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad for a war of aggression against the DPRK and protect peace on the peninsula in a do-or-die spirit.
