He looked round the room devoted to the history of the university, conducted by the rector of the university.

Looking back with deep emotion on the shining course covered by the university, he said that the university was the first people's university of agricultural technique in the history of the country founded on the personal initiative of President Kim Il Sung and under his guidance and has now developed into a reliable centre for training talented agricultural technicians of the country.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the university with a long-standing history, noting that over the last more than six decades it has trained many able scientists and technicians including academicians, candidate academicians, doctors and agricultural experts, thus making a great contribution to the development of the nation's agriculture.

Then he went round the education and science exhibition hall of the university and the room devoted to conception.

Looking round the exhibits there, he learnt in detail about the achievements made in the development of education and scientific researches and expressed great satisfaction over the fact that its teachers and students have done a lot for the development of the nation's agriculture.

Praising the university for having successfully built the room devoted to conception in a peculiar manner, he stressed that it is possible to steadily develop science and technology and apply the successes made in scientific researches and technological innovations to production in good time through good ideas, positive initiative and bold practice only when creative cooperation is intensified between scientists and technicians and producers.

After making the rounds of different places of the university, he highly estimated the facts that it has successfully built centers for experiment and practice to help the students acquire working knowledge by closely combining lectures and scientific experiments and production practices and created good educational environment including the creation of thick woodland and greenery, in particular.

He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for teaching and education and scientific researches, saying that the university occupies an important position in the nation's agricultural development.

He underscored the need for the teachers of the university to always bear in mind the WPK's intention to bring the nation's science and technology to the world's level in a short span of time and train more talented scientists and technicians by steadily improving and intensifying the educational work as required by the developing reality.

He instructed the university to train more scientists and technicians possessed of a high level of technology in a short span of time in order to settle immediate problems arising in implementing the WPK's agriculture-first policy and widely explore new fields of science and technology which are of weighty importance in meeting the requirements of Juche-based farming methods and thus make a positive contribution to radically developing the nation's overall agricultural science and technology.

He called for flying the flag of victory on the eminence of a great prosperous and powerful nation by dint of science and technology and demonstrating the dignity of Songun Korea to the whole world.

He showed great loving care and solicitude for the university, noting that in order to bring about a new turn in training talented agricultural technicians it is necessary to provide ample conditions for education and scientific researches and pay deep attention to the living of its teachers and students.

He was accompanied by Ri Chol Bong, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, Pak Nam Gi, department director of the C.C., the WPK, and Pak Myong Chol, councilor of the NDC of the DPRK.
