Rodong Sinmun Friday carries an editorial in this regard, which says:

It is the distinguished and historic feat of Kim Jong Il that he laid an eternal foundation for carrying forward to completion the revolutionary cause by proclaiming the programme on modeling the whole society on the Juche idea after foreseeing the prospect of the Korean revolution with his clairvoyant foresight and ideological and theoretical wisdom.

The last 35 years in which the DPRK has advanced under the banner of imbuing the whole society with the Juche idea are the proud history in which the whole army and all the people have grown to be men of ideology and faith and revolutionaries of Juche type.

The history of 35 years is also the glorious course in which the single-minded unity between the Workers' Party of Korea and the revolutionary ranks has been cemented as firm as rock on the basis of one idea and one center. And it is the proud course shining with great victory and achievements made in accomplishing the cause of socialism and building a rich and powerful nation.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il, the line of giving importance to ideology has been thoroughly embodied in the party work and activities and it has become the definite tendency of the whole society to learn from the People's Army's idea and spirit.

It is the noble mental world of the army and the people of the DPRK to live and work as required by the great Juche idea, the Songun idea, regarding it as their lifeline.

In the course of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea, our army and people have been closely united as an integrated whole sharing the idea, will and destiny with Kim Jong Il.

The whole party, the entire army and all the people act as one under his monolithic leadership and are replete with the iron faith and will to believe in and follow only Kim Jong Il to the last. This is the true picture of the DPRK's single-minded unity.

The land of the country has been wonderfully renewed as befitting land of socialist Korea, many modern industrial establishments, production bases and monumental edifices have been built and socialist fairylands have taken their shapes across the country. The history of Korea has never recorded such era as the present Songun era in which the DPRK's strength has grown beyond measure and the dignity of the nation has been demonstrated to the full.

All the victories achieved in the protracted course of the Korean revolution are mainly attributable to the greatness of the Juche idea, the Songun idea.

No force on the earth can block the vigorous advance of the army and the people of the DPRK dashing toward the high eminence of a great prosperous and powerful nation under the uplifted banner of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea and the banner of Songun.
