Speakers at the press conference said that they were just stunned to learn that "Chongwadae" recently issued an instruction to the police to prod media into giving wide coverage to the "chain murder cases" that occurred in Kunpho, Kyonggi Province in a bid to calm down the public criticism of the tragic incident in Ryongsan.

This is a mockery of the victims and their bereaved families and a farce to quell the people's anger triggered off by the prosecution's announcement of the hypocritical results of its investigation into the tragic incident and divert the public attention elsewhere, they said.

They accused the present "government" of adamantly denying its red herring and spread of lies, though they were brought to light.

A press release read out at the press conference urged "Chongwadae" to disclose its act of misleading the public opinion and severely punish those responsible for it.

It stressed that the probe into the truth about the killing of evacuees in Ryongsan can no longer be left to the prosecution and police as they are nothing but tools for those in power.
