Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the July 7 Complex. He first went round the revolutionary museum of the complex and the room devoted to its history. Looking back with deep emotion on the complex's glorious history of development in which it has advanced along the road of victory and prosperity under the care of President Kim Il Sung, he said that the complex has turned into a reliable giant chemical producer of the country under the wise guidance and meticulous care of the President, adding that his undying revolutionary feats will shine long in the history of the country. Then he acquainted himself with technological updating and production at the complex, going round its various production processes. Seeing the new production processes standing imposingly, he said that the appearance of the complex has changed beyond recognition. He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the complex has successfully built great structures, products of the spirit of self-reliance, fully meeting the requirements of the IT age. In recent years the complex has invented dozens of new valuable technologies and introduced them to production to rapidly increase the production of major chemical goods, he said, noting that this spectacular success is the precious fruition of the mental power of the revolutionary workers in our era, who have embodied the principle of collectivism on which they are devoting all their wisdom and enthusiasm to the efforts for the prosperity of the country and the interests of the society and collective. He set forth important tasks facing the complex. In order to boost the production and supply of a variety of chemical products, it is necessary to continue pushing forward technological updating to introduce latest equipment to all production processes of the complex and intensify the drive to introduce new technologies as required by the WPK's idea of attaching importance to science, he stressed. It is very gratifying that the workers and technicians of the complex have strengthened the Juche character of the chemical industry by establishing a production system relying on locally available raw and other materials and tenaciously conducting scientific researches into cutting down the norm of consumption of raw materials per unit, he noted, underlining the need to pay a deep attention to this work in the future, too. He also stressed the need for the guiding officials of the complex to scrupulously organize economy in order to give play to producers' creative ingenuity and, at the same time, intensify the campaign for economization, with economic calculation given primary consideration, and thus fully ensure the profitability in the production. He called on the party organization and working people's organization of the complex to conduct the organizational and political work in a dynamic manner, keeping pace with the zeal of the workers of the complex to boost the production and, at the same time, further improve the supply service for the workers. He was accompanied by Hong Sok Hyong, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, Pak Nam Gi and Jang Song Thaek, department directors of the C.C., the WPK, and Ju Kyu Chang, first vice department director of the C.C., the WPK. |
