Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Recently the Lee Myung Bak group disallowed the exchange of news items with the north side proposed by the media headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration. This indicates that the "dialogue" and "cooperation" much touted by the group of traitors are whopping lies. Minju Joson Thursday says this in a signed commentary. In October last year, the media sub-committee of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the media headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration agreed to exchange news items. This was aimed to make contributions to national reconciliation and unity. That was why all Koreans warmly hailed the agreement, the commentary notes, and goes on: This notwithstanding, the Lee group totally banned the exchange of news items between the north and the south. This was a blatant challenge to the aspiration and wishes of the fellow countrymen for national reconciliation and unity. The puppets' claim that there is concern that the above-said exchange "may serve the propaganda purpose of the north" and "may be detrimental to security" is sheer sophism intended to justify their criminal acts. When media persons of the north and south are trying to create an atmosphere of national reconciliation and unity to help people know better about each other's reality through the exchange of news items, why are they making such far-fetched assertion about "concern" and "security?" Such assertion can be made only by those who are afraid of the DPRK's fair and aboveboard policy for national reunification and consistent efforts to implement it and the great vitality of the Songun politics being known to south Koreans through the above-said exchange. The ulterior intention of the Lee group is to quell the south Koreans' desire to achieve reunification through alliance with the north and continue rushing headlong into confrontation with fellow countrymen, utterly indifferent to the fate of the north-south relations and criticism made by others. It is crystal clear that it is impossible to improve the inter-Korean relations nor is it possible to realize dialogue and cooperation nor is it possible for the Koreans to escape the danger of a nuclear war as long as the traitors are allowed to stay in power. The only way of preventing such consequences is for all Koreans to intensify the anti-Lee Myung Bak struggle. |
