Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The 4th national meeting of agitators was opened at the April 25 House of Culture here on Thursday. The meeting will review the successes and experience gained in the mass political work for building a rich and powerful country in the new century under the Songun leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea and discuss the tasks facing the agitators and information workers, each in charge of five families. Attending it were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Jung Rin, Kim Ki Nam, officials in the field of party ideological work, officials of working people's organizations, those in the fields of education, culture and arts and media, exemplary agitators in various domains of the national economy and information workers each in charge of five families. The participants listened to the recorded speech made by President Kim Il Sung at the national conference of the active agitators and information workers each in charge of five families "Agitators Must Set an Example in All Work and Know How to Rouse the Masses to Action" on March 9, Juche 60 (1971). Kim Yong Nam, member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, read out a congratulatory message of the WPK Central Committee to the participants in the meeting. The message noted that Kim Il Sung gave an origin to the Juche-oriented mass political work in the forest of Mt. Paektu and created the anti-Japanese guerilla method of agitation work long ago, adding that he attached great importance to the agitation work in the whole course of leading the building of a new country, the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War, the deep-going socialist revolution and the gigantic socialist construction and wisely led the work to make sure that the might of the work was steadily increased. General Secretary Kim Jong Il put forward the original theories and policies of agitation work in the days of leading the cause of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea and established a well-regulated system of agitation work throughout the Party, the message said, and continued: He, at the same time, set all the agitation forces and means in motion to loudly sound the revolution and make the spirit of creation and innovation run high in every site of socialist construction. It underlined the need for all agitators and the above-said information workers across the country to become ideological standard-bearers in building a great prosperous powerful nation who powerfully encourage the party members and other working people to bring about signal innovations and a great leap forward unprecedented in the history of the country, holding aloft the torch of new great revolutionary upswing kindled by Kim Jong Il in Kangson, the birthplace of the Chollima movement. Choe Thae Bok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, said in his report at the meeting that all the people are unhesitatingly laying down their lives to defend the headquarters of the revolution while deeply trusting and ardently following Kim Jong Il, adding that this stirring reality in the society is a striking demonstration of the might of the agitation work of the WPK as it has powerfully encouraged all members of the society to invariably glorify in the new century, too, the precious tradition of the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the spirit which has been consolidated in the long journey of the Juche revolution and has become part of their lives. He underlined the need for the agitators and the said information workers to dynamically conduct the agitation in the all-people general advance for adorning the 100th Juche year of Kim Il Sung's Korea with the great victory of Korean-style socialism and thus make the hearts of all the servicepersons and people burn with ardent patriotism. Speeches were made there. The meeting continues. |
