February Holiday Celebrated at DPRK Diplomatic Missions

Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Receptions, photo exhibitions and film shows and other events took place at the DPRK embassies in China, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, Britain, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Poland, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Libya and Brazil and the DPRK consulates general in Shenyang, Hong Kong and Nakhodka in the period from Feb. 6 to 16 on the occasion of the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Seen before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the venues of the events were floral baskets and bunches of flowers presented by political parties, government ministries, organizations and institutions and figures from various circles in the relevant countries.

Present there on invitation were figures of all social standings, chiefs of the Juche idea study organizations and the organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and diplomatic envoys of various countries in the relevant countries.

Speeches were made at the events.

The permanent vice-chairman of the Commission for External Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam noted that the party, government and people of Vietnam are attaching great importance to the traditional relations of friendship and many-sided cooperation with the party, government and people of the DPRK, expressing the will to exert all efforts to boost them.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc noted that the Workers' Party and people of Korea would surely build a thriving socialist nation, smashing all sorts of moves of the imperialists and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain said that it is the greatest fortune of the Korean people to hold in high esteem Kim Jong Il identical to the President.

The first deputy general secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea declared that the DPRK has dynamically advanced despite the blockade and pressure by the imperialists thanks to the matchless pluck and principle of Kim Jong Il and the indomitable spirit of its people who regard the sovereignty as their life and soul.

The chairman of the Brazil-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group praised Kim Jong Il as the greatest and most prominent political and military leader in the present era as he has firmly protected the dignity of the country and socialism, smashing all moves of the U.S. styling itself the "only superpower" in the world with the might of the single-minded unity and powerful military power.
