The statement said that through the uprising the Korean nation fully displayed the steadfast spirit of independence and sovereignty and indomitable will to reject outsiders' domination and plunder and carve out its own destiny by its own efforts and gave a telling blow to the Japanese imperialists' ferocious colonial rule.

60 odd years have passed since the defeat of Japan which inflicted eternally incurable pain and grudge upon the Korean nation, but Japan has not yet repented nor made reparations for its crime-woven past and, on the contrary, it is trying to repeat its blood-stained criminal history while embellishing its past colonial domination and aggression war, it pointed out.

It said: The Japanese reactionaries have persisted in their wild design to strengthen the military alliance for aggression, turn Japan into a military giant and realize overseas expansion with the backing of the U.S. They vie with each other in making reckless remarks to justify Japan's past aggression and are getting evermore pronounced in the scheme to gratify their ambition for reinvasion, taking advantage of pro-Japanese traitor Lee Myung Bak's seizure of power in south Korea to more undisguisedly reveal their design to grab Tok Islet.

Owing to the pro-Japanese treachery of Lee Myung Bak, the pro-Japanese elements are now swaggering about in south Korea and such abnormal practices are taking place as beautifying and lauding the past colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists, the statement noted, adding: Those disgusting behaviors are further inciting the Japanese reactionaries' ambition for reinvasion.

Struggle is the only way for putting an end to the colonial history of 100 odd years stained with flunkeyism and treachery under the outsiders' domination and building in south Korea a genuine society where national dignity and independence are ensured, the statement said, and went on:

The people from all walks of life should inherit the patriotic spirit and tradition of the March First Popular Uprising to intensify the struggle for independence against the U.S., the struggle to terminate the colonial domination and military presence of the U.S. imperialists who have inflicted unbearable misfortune and pain on the Korean nation for over 60 years after occupying south Korea in the wake of the Japanese imperialists.

They should also wage a vigorous massive struggle to decisively deal a crushing blow at the ambition of the Japanese reactionaries who are sharpening their sword of reinvasion, preoccupied by the wild design for "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere," and wipe out the Lee Myung Bak group which is committing treacherous crimes one after another, staking its fate on sycophancy toward the U.S. and Japan.
