According to the report, since General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent an open letter to all voters throughout the country to inform the citizens that he decided to register as a candidate for deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly at Constituency No. 333 for the election of deputy to the 12th Supreme People's Assembly, the nomination and registration of candidates for deputies to the 12th SPA have been successfully finished at all other constituencies of the country.

At all voters' meetings for nominating candidates for deputies to the 12th SPA officials, servicepersons, workers, farmers and intellectuals were nominated as candidates for deputies to the SPA as they have devotedly worked for the party and the leader, the country and the people true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il, the report said, and noted:

The entire electorate expressed expectation and conviction that the nominated candidates for deputies would devote themselves to the sacred struggle to strengthen the government of the Republic, firmly defend the socialist system and build a great prosperous and powerful nation.

The Central Election Committee reported that all constituency election committees throughout country have correctly registered the candidates for deputies who had been nominated according to the Law on the Elections of Deputies to the People's Assemblies at All Levels of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea as those candidates for deputies to the SPA to be elected at their constituencies.
