Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in an editorial dedicated to the March 8 International Women's Day.

The editorial goes on:

President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic Women's Union of Korea right after the liberation of the country and promulgated the Law on Equality of Sexes. This was a historic event that brought about a radical turn in the social position and role of the Korean women and their political life.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il authored many works including "Women Are a Dynamic Force Pushing Ahead with the Revolution and Construction," clearly indicating the way to be followed by the Korean women's movement and training women as the steadfast revolutionaries of the era amidst the tempest of the Songun revolution.

It was thanks to his energetic leadership and warm loving care that the function and role of the women's union organizations as ones for the ideological education have been steadily increased and the Korean women have steadfastly advanced along the road of Songun and socialism under the Workers' Party of Korea.

Admirable, indeed, are the ideological and moral traits of the Korean women who enjoy a worthwhile life under the care of the great leader and the great party.

It is the noble ideological and moral world of the Korean women to devote themselves to the struggle for the prosperity of the country, reposing absolute trust in the party and the leader in any adversity. The shining victories of the Songun revolution and structures that have sprung up everywhere in the country are associated with the feats performed by the Korean women, remaining single-mindedly true to the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The WPK and the Korean people are highly proud of having a large contingent of women revolutionaries who have absolute trust in their leader and a revolutionary outlook on life that one should live not merely for today but for tomorrow.

The editorial calls upon all the women to fully demonstrate the revolutionary stamina of the Korean women in the fruitful drive to open the gate to a thriving nation under Songun leadership of
Kim Jong Il.
