President Kim Il Sung, basing himself on precious tradition and experience accumulated in the solution of the power problem in the flames of the anti-Japanese war, established the genuine people's power after the liberation and constantly strengthened and developed it in line with the developing revolution and construction.

He personally wrote the "Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" and saw to it that it was adopted to proclaim the DPRK as an independent socialist state and institute a unique state machinery. As a result, the state power was further consolidated and its function and role elevated.

He authored celebrated works including "Let Us Further Strengthen the Socialist System of Our Country", "Tasks of the People's Government in Modeling the Whole Society on the Juche Idea" and "Let Us Further Strengthen the People's Government". He, in the works, newly expounded that the main mode of the socialist state activities is the socialist democracy and gave perfect answers to the theoretical and practical problems arising in cementing the people's power, thus converting the DPRK government into the solid and viable one rooted deeply among the popular masses.

It is entirely thanks to the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il that today the DPRK government is adhering invariably to its character and mission as the socialist political power in the unprecedented ordeals and difficulties.

When socialism collapsed in various countries and the imperialists clamored about the "end of socialism", he published the famous work "Let's Give Fuller Play to the Advantages of Our People's Power" and thus smashed the anti-socialist moves of the enemies into smithereens.

In particular, he enforced the Songun politics and let the people's power organs be strengthened in accordance with requirement of the Songun era.

Therefore, in the unprecedented difficult period of the "Arduous March" and forced march the DPRK put in force one after another social policies which were conducive to the improvement of the people's well-being and the power bodies discharged their mission fuller as householder responsible for the people's living and as protector of independent and creative life of the working masses.

The prospect of the DPRK government which is strengthened and developed day by day under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il is bright and the faith and will of the Korean people to defend and shine the socialist power in any adversity are as firm as rock.
