When he arrived at the university, teachers and students and their families enthusiastically welcomed him, extending the highest glory and the warmest thanks to him.

After warmly acknowledging their enthusiastic welcome, he moved to the festively decorated polling station. There he received a ballot from the chairman of the Election Committee of Sub-Constituency No. 22 of Constituency No. 342 for the election of deputy to the SPA and voted for KPA officer Jon Il, candidate for deputy to the SPA.

He met and had a talk with the candidate.

After his voting, he went round the room devoted to the history of the university, conducted by its rector.

Looking back with deep emotion on the glorious path covered by the university, he noted that thanks to the wise leadership and meticulous care of President Kim Il Sung the university developed into a prestigious centre for training hard core officers of the army, adding that it is great pride and honor of the WPK and people to have such university.

He highly appreciated the shining feats performed by the university in the past period, saying that it has trained many able political officers over the past more than six decades since its foundation, greatly contributing to strengthening and developing the revolutionary armed forces.

Then he made the rounds of an e-library, a servicepersons' hall and other places to acquaint himself with the education there.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the university has created a good educational environment and made an effective use of it in order to train all students into able political officers and praised the teachers for having devoted their wisdom and energies to training commanding officers.

He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines in the education and management of the university, saying that the position and role of the university are very important for improving and intensifying the political work of the party in the People's Army as required by the era of Songun.

He expressed great expectation and conviction that the teachers of the university would bring about a new turn in the education and thus train many more political officers strong in the party spirit and comprehensively qualified. He had a photo session with them.

He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, minister of the People's Armed Forces of the NDC of the DPRK, KPA General Kim Jong Gak, first vice-director of the General Political Department of the KPA, KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk and Hyon Chol Hae and other KPA commanding officers.
