The statement accused the security authorities of having set up "a 100 odd-man headquarters exclusively responsible for investigation" to secretly investigate those who staged candlelight actions.

The action taken by them once again proves how desperately the present regime is working to check the candlelight actions and violate democracy, noted the statement.

What is more intolerable is that the security authorities are conducting an investigation into members of the Seoul Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration affiliated to the above-mentioned solidarity, the statement said, adding that this action glaringly reveals the ulterior intention of the Lee regime to prevent the outbreak of more candlelight struggles at any cost.

The statement warned the intensified crackdown upon the participants in the candlelight struggles by the present regime and the security authorities would only embolden them to stage fresh fierce candlelight actions throughout the land.
