Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed a performance given by members of student art groups of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education and other universities in Pyongyang. They put on the stage such colorful numbers of various genres as chorus "O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee," female chorus "Cuckoo on the Road to the Front," song and story-telling " My Unforgettable Teacher," story-telling and song "18 Years Old Hero," witticism "Traits" and chorus "Let Us Dash Like the Wind towards Thriving Nation." The performance truthfully represented the fixed faith and will of the university students to accomplish the Juche revolutionary cause started in Mt. Expressing great satisfaction over the successful performance replete with the revolutionary soldier spirit given by them with numbers of diverse genres truthfully reflecting the life of the students in the Songun era, he highly appreciated the performers' success and extended thanks to them. The ideological and spiritual world and moral traits of our revolutionary and militant students are noble and beautiful, indeed, he said, adding that the sacred Korean revolution will steadily advance only along the road of victory as there is such dependable younger generation. He highly appreciated the successes made by the universities in the past, noting that the WPK is satisfied with the fact that they have made a positive contribution to carrying out the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful nation by training a large number of able native cadres and technical talents playing a core role in the revolution and construction. It is one of the most important issues in accomplishing the Juche revolutionary cause and building a rich and powerful country to train our university students who will shoulder upon themselves the future of the country as valuable talents with ample knowledge, high morality and strong bodies, he said, and set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for the education and upbringing at the universities. Among the audience were senior officials of the WPK Central Committee including its Secretaries Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam and department directors, and commanding officers of the Korean People's Army including KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk, Hyon Chol Hae, and Ri Myong Su and university teachers. |
