The statement accused the security authorities of detaining Kim Thae Yon, section chief of the All-People Committee for Measures against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan, on March 20 on the charge of the violation of the "law on assembly and demonstration".

It said that unpardonable is the tyrannical action taken by the Lee Myung Bak regime to put in custody the member of the said committee by branding his just activities as "illegal" despite the resentment of all the people at the moves of the authorities to conceal their murder of evacuees.

Stressing that the tragedy in Ryongsan was obviously a man-killing operation carried out by the fascist police to brutally suppress the protesters at the instigation of the Lee Myung Bak regime, the statement urged the authorities to set free the member of the committee at once.
