Korean People Strive for Tomorrow
Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- It is a proud tradition of the Korean people to devote themselves to the better morrow and to the rising generation.

The anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, the first generation of the Korean revolution, had shed their blood in the anti-Japanese war to win back the country occupied by the Japanese imperialists, shouting "The victory of the revolution is seen" and "Long live national liberation!"

Lots of people had laid down their lives without hesitation for the hopeful future and the country during the Fatherland Liberation War.

In the postwar period of rehabilitation and construction, too, the Korean people did away with the war debris only in a few years and upgraded its appearance only within 14 years, demonstrating the stamina of heroic Korea to the world, although the U.S. imperialists prattled that the DPRK would be unable to get back on its feet even in 100 years.

They also successfully wound up "the Arduous March" and forced march by working hard with confidence and optimism under the slogan "Let us go the thorny path cheerfully!"

Now the looks of the country are being changed day after day by the efforts of soldiers and people who are carrying out the projects of factory and land construction for the future in a big and bold way.

The land management has been pushed forward vigorously, with the result that mountains are covered with wood, and the farmland is rezoned and medium and small gravity-fed waterways have come into being in different parts of the country with the Kaechon-Thaesong Lake Waterway and Paekma-Cholsan Waterway as a model as required by the new century.

Large power bases have been constructed in Anbyon, Thaechon, Samsu, Nyongwon and other areas as well as a lot of minor ones across the country to increase the nation's electricity production.

Such famous mountains as Mts.Kuwol, Chilbo, Paekun and Ryongak have been arranged into recreation grounds for the people. Modern stock-breeding farms are being built one after another.

Today the Korean people are making a new revolutionary upsurge for the construction of a thriving nation under the slogan "Let us live not merely for today but for tomorrow!"
