The statement accused the "Ministry of Unification" of disallowing the visit to Pyongyang by two members of the above-said solidarity among members of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration to attend the meeting of the co-chairmen of All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration.

The statement charged that the recent action taken by the authorities under the pretext of "security," etc. was prompted by their intention to exclude the progressive organizations from the exchange and cooperation and divide and control the above-said south side committee.

Putting a brake on the work of the south side committee which groups major political parties and the majority of social organizations in south Korea is an undemocratic and treacherous act to stamp out the non-governmental movement for reunification, it noted, adding:

No matter how hard the authorities may work to block the reunification movement, they can never quell the aspiration and will of the Koreans to support and implement the June 15 joint declaration.
