After taking office the Lee group replaced all chiefs of media organs, including the Broadcasting and Communication Committee which supervises the broadcasting and news services in south Korea and main broadcasting services, with its liegemen in order to suppress the progressive media and put media as a whole under its control. And it is nowadays trying to amend the laws on media so that such venal newspapers as Chosun Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo may monopolize broadcasting services.

Meanwhile, the group is violently cracking down on the media organs offending it.

Such moves of the group are an intolerable, undemocratic and traitorous criminal deed intended to turn media into a reptile mouthpiece serving for its establishment of fascist ruling system and scheme of confrontation with fellow countrymen, the statement said, and went on:

The press speaks for justice and guides the era.

But, now in south Korea media can not freely tell the truth due to the fascist suppression by the group of traitors, while the ultra-right conservative media organs are misleading public opinion to curry favor with the puppet clique, running amuck as if a golden chance presented to themselves.

There is no room for the reactionary media organs and pressmen to stay as they incite antagonism, distrust and confrontation among the fellow countrymen, in partnership with the Lee group of traitors.

We will sternly settle accounts with the conservative media organs and pressmen of south Korea that are viciously slandering the DPRK while acting a disgraceful venal mouthpiece for the group of traitors.
