The meeting reviewed the work done by Pomchonghakryon last year and discussed an action orientation and tasks for this year.

A report was made at the meeting.

The report referred to the fact that last year Pomchonghakryon properly saw through the nature of the Lee Myung Bak conservative ruling forces and disclosed their true colors in time and joined all members of the nation in courageously waging the anti-U.S., anti-Lee Myung Bak struggle.

The report noted that the organization waged a dynamic movement to embody the spirit of "By our nation itself" in all its activities, regarding the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration as signposts for reunification.

The report proposed tasks to be fulfilled by Pomchonghakryon to energetically intensify the patriotic movement for national reunification for the purpose of firmly upholding and sincerely implementing the historic north-south joint declarations this year.

The report set the period from June 15 to October 4 as the "period of the youth and students movement for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration" and stressed the need to wage an intensive mass movement for implementing the declarations.

Pomchonghakryon should take the lead in the struggle to resolutely frustrate the traitorous and anti-reunification idea and war moves of the conservative ruling forces, get all the fascist laws including the "National Security Law" repealed and have the reunification movement organizations legalized, it noted, and went on:

Pomchonghakryon should fully support the struggle of the overseas headquarters against the behavior of the Japanese authorities violating the rights of Koreans in Japan and trampling down upon their national dignity, in particular, and briskly conduct multifarious activities including the movement to defend Tok Islet.

The report underlined the need for Pomchonghakryon to channel primary efforts into education, information service and the work to strengthen the organization and boost solidarity with different circles and organizations and the solidarity among the north, south and overseas sides in order to launch a dynamic struggle against the evermore undisguised moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad to escalate confrontation with compatriots and their fascist suppression.

A joint resolution was adopted at the meeting.
