U.S. Moves for Building Missile Defense System Flailed

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Recently the U.S. bellicose forces conducted an anti-missile test at a base in Kawai of Hawaii, the first of its kind since the emergence of the new U.S. administration. The U.S. moves for establishing the missile defense system (MD) is a product of the U.S. hegemonic policy and a root cause of a new arms race.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed commentary.

It is needless to say that if the U.S. moves for MD are pushed forward in real earnest, when taking into consideration the present possession of nuclear and strategic weapons in the world, it will result in upsetting the military strategic equilibrium and stability in the world and spark and escalate a new global arms race by getting on the nerves of various countries.

Russia and China have already clarified their stands that they would be compelled to take corresponding measures in case the U.S. goes ahead with the building of MD. This has aroused concern over it even among the U.S. allies.

When the situation reached such a pass, the U.S. has become more vociferous about the DPRK's non-existent "missile threat" and taken an option to step up its moves to establish MD, justifying those moves and the escalation of its arms race.

As a matter of fact it is the DPRK that is exposed to constant missile threat. The U.S. is posing a missile threat to the DPRK and the latter is its victim.

A basic aim sought by the U.S. in putting spurs to the moves for establishing MD while spreading the rumor about "missile threat from north Korea" like a thief crying "Stop the thief!" is to throw a missile network worldwide in a bid to ensure an unchallenged military strategic edge and neutralize the military deterrents of other countries and carry out its strategy for world domination.

It is a pipedream of the U.S. to dominate the world by force.

The U.S. would be well advised to drop its anachronistic Cold War-minded way of thinking and ambition and stop the rash acts to increase the danger of arms race.
