Beautiful Moran Hill in Spring
Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Moran Hill in Pyongyang is covered with flowers of apricot, peach, Rhododendron yedoense, Paenia suffruticosa, royal azalea and peony following golden-bell and azalea these days when the spring has fairly set in.

It looks like a blue silk cloth embroidered with colorful flowers.

Moran Hill covered with thick trees and crystal-clear River Taedong meandering round the steep Chongryu Cliff--these present a picturesque Paenia suffruticosa blossom.

Hundreds of thousands of trees of more than 200 species grow on the hill and tens of kinds of birds fly in and out there according to seasons. Animals including roe deer, deer, squirrel and others inhabit the hill.

There are in and around the hill Kim Il Sung Stadium, Arch of Triumph, Moranbong Theater and Kaeson Youth Park, folk-game places such as a swinging site and a ssirum (Korean wrestling) ground, catering facilities, pavilions, lotus ponds and fountains which are blended well with each other.

The hill has many historical relics, including Chongryu Pavilion, Choesung Pavilion, Chilsong Gate and Hyonmu Gate associated with legends.

The Ulmil Pavilion in spring where people used to enjoy spring scenery from olden times and the beautiful night view of Pubyok Pavilion where people used to welcome the full moon are among the eight scenic wonders in Pyongyang.

These days the hill is crowded with working people who enjoy their holidays.
