Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist), released a statement on April 1 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun and the 16th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.
The statement noted that the DPRK has turned into a powerful socialist state and the socialist and anti-imperialist independent forces have grown stronger in the international arena thanks to the brilliant ideological and theoretical activities conducted by President Kim Il Sung and his revolutionary practices.
It stressed that the President was, indeed, the genuine leader of the Korean people and the world revolutionary people struggling for independence.
It was a very significant historic event in accomplishing the cause of global independence that
Kim Jong Il was elected chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK by the unanimous desire of all the Korean people, the statement noted.
It expressed belief that the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il who is successfully carrying forward Kim Il Sung's revolutionary cause would instill greater victory and honor into the Korean people and the world revolutionary people.
