Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Hasanul Huq Inu, chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh National Socialist Party, and Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Bangladesh, made public a joint statement on April 1 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun and the 16th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.
The statement noted that by founding the immortal Juche idea President Kim Il Sung showed the bright road ahead of humankind and realized the centuries-old desire of the Korean people to live in a new society free from all sorts of exploitation and oppression.
The great events and brilliant successes recorded in the modern history of Korea from the backward colonial semi-feudal society to the present progress and prosperity are associated with the august name of the President, the statement said.
The election of Kim Jong Il as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission is the great happiness and honor to the world revolutionary people, it said, adding:
We will support the just cause of the Korean people to the last, being convinced that the heroic Korean People's Army and the Korean people under the distinguished Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il will build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation, meeting all challenges of the imperialists and dynamically wage the drive to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
