Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- A Czech preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung was inaugurated on Apr. 2 while an Ecuadorian national preparatory committee was formed on Apr. 3 for the same purpose.
Miroslav Stepan, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, and Jaroslav Kafka, chairman of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea who is chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association, were elected co-chairmen of the Czech preparatory committee. Milton Burbano was elected chairman of the Ecuadorian national preparatory committee.
The Czech preparatory committee decided to organize colorful functions including meetings, round-table talks, lectures, film shows and seminars on the Juche idea on the occasions of important anniversaries of the DPRK and send messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and top leader of the DPRK on those occasions.
The Ecuadorian national preparatory committee decided to organize multifarious political and cultural events including meetings, book and photo exhibitions and special TV programs in the period from the Day of the Sun this year to that day in 2012.
