Ushering in April, broad masses have been drawn into the creation of ecological environment favorable for the propagation of animals in the sanctuaries across the country.

Relevant units are providing animals with good conditions for habitation by growing feed plants and hanging artificial nests on trees.

Particular efforts are directed to the protection and propagation of animals in danger of extinction and rare animals.

Supervision and control by the state are tightened: hunting and grazing in the sanctuaries and mine development, road building and all other projects in their surroundings are banned in this period.

The Nature Conservation Union of Korea, in contact with mass media, is informing people of what they should abide by in the period and frequently organizing lectures, propaganda by means of visual aids, film shows, experience-swap meetings, etc.

The period of protection of useful animals is from March to July in the DPRK.

The state pays special attention to the protection of animals in this period.
