The Unified Communist Party of Italy said in its statement that the satellite launch would be greatly conducive to the development of space science and telecommunications technology in the DPRK and it is giving great confidence and encouragement to different nations and peoples working to create a new life while taking their destinies in their own hands.

The party firmly affirms that it will fully support the Korean people in the efforts to build an economic power, the statement stressed.

The Switzerland-Korea Committee said in its statement that Kwangmyongsong-2 would serve for the DPRK's scientific research into space for peaceful purposes. The successful launch of the satellite is a great victory of the DPRK's Juche-based science and technology and gives a great national pride to all Koreans in the north and the south and overseas, it added.

The statement slashed at the moves of the U.S. imperialists and their followers distorting the satellite launch as "launch of long-range missile" and crying out for "sanctions" at the UNSC.

The DPRK has a right to launch satellite like all other countries, it said.
