Consummated in this title are the great exploits performed for the motherland and the people by President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the heroic Korean People's Army(KPA), the revolutionary armed forces of the Workers' Party of Korea, and the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist who led the revolutionary wars against the U.S. and Japanese imperialists to shining victories.

Having set out on the road of revolution in his teens, he founded the first revolutionary armed forces on April 25, Juche 21 (1932) and led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, thus routing the Japanese imperialists and accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation.

After the liberation of the country, he strengthened and developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into regular revolutionary armed forces and led the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) against the armed invasion of the imperialist allied forces headed by the U.S. imperialists to a brilliant victory, defending the freedom and independence of the country with credit.

This was a great victory brought by the brilliant commanding art and original Juche-based tactics of President Kim Il Sung, the illustrious commander born by humankind.

After the war he firmly defended the security of the country and the people and further strengthened the KPA into revolutionary armed forces each being a match for a hundred, smashing the aggressive machinations of the imperialists and the reactionaries at every step.

And he set forth the military line of self-reliant defense and turned the whole country into an impregnable fortress, thus displaying the great might of invincible socialist Korea and rendering active support and encouragement to the struggle of the world progressives for independence against imperialism.

The long-standing wish of the Korean people and army was achieved when the title of generalissimo, the highest title, was awarded to President Kim Il Sung on April 13, Juche 81 (1992) on the occasion of his 80th birthday, who founded the unquenchable revolutionary armed forces of Juche and led them along one road of victory and glory to perform great feats for the country and the revolution.
