The President, with deep penetration into the historical inevitability of the succession to the revolutionary cause, had established the organizational and ideological bases and set the leadership system so as to carry the revolutionary cause of Juche to accomplishment generation after generation and put his heart and soul into the work of having the idea of giving priority to arms carried forward from many years ago.

Already in the 1970s General Secretary Kim Jong Il with the outstanding political ability and noble moral virtues won the boundless respect and absolute trust from the whole Party and all the people for his distinguished services rendered to the Workers' Party of Korea and the revolution.

The entire Party members and people ardently wished to hold him at a leading position of the Party and the revolution, calling him "dear leader". President Kim Il Sung who fathomed the unanimous wish took measures to set up the monolithic system of guidance within the Party and improve and strengthen the party organizational work fundamentally.

On December 24, Juche 80 (1991) the President, who had paid special attention to establish his leadership system over the army, handed, above all, the heavy responsibility of the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army over to him who had cultivated the grit and commanding art as a brilliant commander in the flames of war and shined his revolutionary activities, thus providing the lasting foundation for the ever-victorious Korean revolution.

The President presented "Paektusan" pistol to commanding officers of the KPA on April 25, 1994, earnestly asking them to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche under the leadership of the Supreme Commander.

The revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Mt. Paektu is being carried forward successfully by Kim Jong Il with unswerving faith to carry the ideology and cause of the President to practice.

Kim Jong Il had planned the future of the rich and powerful nation and covered the road of field guidance together with the President for many years to develop the DPRK as an invincible powerful socialist country, independent, self-supporting and self-reliant on national defence. Today, too, he is devoting himself to the efforts for translating the intention and idea of the President into practice.

True to the last teachings of the President, the Korean people will glorify the DPRK as Kim Il Sung's Korea for ever and carry out the revolutionary cause of Juche under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
