Joint Actions against Japan's Distortion of History Called for
Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- At least ten civic and public organizations of south Korea including the Solidarity for Peace in Asia and Education in History, the Teachers' Union, the History Teachers Association and the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps held a joint meeting in Seoul on April 15 at which they declared that they would stage joint actions against the Japanese reactionaries' moves to tamper with history.

At the meeting the organizations accused the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of passing another history textbook for middle schoolers justifying its past aggression through the screening process on April 9, adding that this was a clear proof that the distortion of history is being perpetrated undisguisedly in Japan with the support of its government.

The textbook that passed through the screening process not only carries the same distorted contents as the history textbook published in the past but is retrogressively revised, they noted.

The organizations called upon civic and public organizations grouping people of broad strata to solidarize with one another in the dynamic actions against the Japanese reactionaries' moves to tamper with history.
