Wreaths and Floral Baskets Laid
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and floral baskets before the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower on Saturday on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army.

Seen at the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the KPA.

Present at wreath-floral basket laying ceremonies were senior officials of the party, army and state, a chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA and working people in Pyongyang.

Wreaths in the name of the WPK Central Committee and the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK were laid on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries. And a floral basket in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee and the WPK Central Military Commission was laid before the main theme sculpture "Victory" of the victorious war memorial tower.

Wreaths and floral baskets in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, public organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units, scientific, educational, cultural and art, public health and press organs, and party and power bodies, factories and farms in Pyongyang were also placed.

Written on the ribbons of wreaths and floral baskets were letters reading "Glory to Revolutionary Martyrs!", "Glory to Patriotic Martyrs!" and "Victory and Glory to Servicepersons of the Heroic Korean People's Army!"

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of martyrs and paid respects to the servicepersons of the KPA.

The military attaches corps here laid a wreath before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and a floral basket before the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower on Saturday.

They laid bouquets before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese heroine, at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and observed a moment's silence to the memory of her.

Wreaths were laid before the statues of martyrs, monuments to fallen fighters of the KPA and graves of martyrs in different parts of the country on the same day.
