Rodong Sinmun Sunday urges this in a by-lined article.

It cites facts to prove that the "UN Command" in south Korea is a military mechanism for aggression which was illegally cooked up by the U.S. in the year of 1950 under the pretext of "ensuring international peace and security".

It continues:

The command is an entirely illegal entity in the light of the background against which it was set up and in view of its military system and its financing and all other aspects. It is a wanton breach of the UN Charter for the U.S. to keep the command.

The resolution on dissolving the command adopted by the 30th Session of the UN General Assembly was a measure taken by it on the basis of the understanding of the illegality and aggressive nature of the command.

It is a criminal act of disregarding the demands of the UN and the international community for the U.S. to seek to expand and reorganize the command which should have been disbanded long ago as required by the UN resolution.

The aim sought by the U.S. is to continue using the U.S. forces in south Korea as a shock brigade executing the policy of aggression against the DPRK under the signboard of the "UN forces."

This attempt of the U.S. is tarnishing the image of the UN whose mission is to preserve world peace and security and impairing its prestige.

The UN should not tolerate such action.
