The statement said that the Seoul Central District Court held a trial on April 21 at which it labeled the solidarity an "enemy-benefiting organization" and sentenced its leading members to penal servitude.

It held that the solidarity is a patriotic pro-reunification movement organization which took the lead in the activities to achieve the independent reunification, peace and prosperity of the nation.

It noted that the judicial authorities have cracked down on the patriotic forces on the charge of "benefiting enemy" by invoking the "National Security Law", an anti-reunification law and undemocratic evil law, thereby self-exposing that they have been completely reduced to henchmen serving the dictatorial regime keen on confrontation with fellow countrymen and murder of people.

The suppression of pro-reunification patriotic forces steadily intensified by the judicial authorities right after Lee Myung Bak came to power amounts to brutal murder being perpetrated in defiance of the norms of law and justice and without any justification.

It urged the judicial authorities to retract the unreasonable sentence and set free those leading members of the solidarity at once.
