Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Federation of Koreans in the United States issued a statement on April 22 denouncing the south Korean puppet authorities for their suppression of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration.
The statement condemned the judicial authorities of south Korea for sentencing leading members of the said solidarity to prison terms at a trial held on April 21 after labeling it as an "enemy-benefiting organization." This was an anti-reunification act of totally negating the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, it pointed out.
To crack down upon the pro-reunification movement forces on charges of violation of the "National Security Law" is little different from the brutal atrocities the Japanese imperialists perpetrated in the past by executing the advocates of the independence movement on charges of being "criminals", it stressed.
The statement urged the Lee Myung Bak "government" to immediately lift the label of "enemy-benefiting organization" attached to the solidarity and retract the prison terms imposed upon its leading members.
