DPRK's April Holidays Commemorated in China

Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The first Dandong Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Show, the Shenyang Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Show and a remembrance meeting took place in Liaoning Province, China and a DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibition in Jilin Province, China from April 10 to 24 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun and the 77th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army. Displayed in the venues of the events were hundreds of potted Kimilsungias and Kimjongilias, photos introducing the DPRK, books and photos dealing with the development of the friendly relations between the DPRK and China and handicrafts showcasing the wisdom and skills of the Korean people. Speeches were made at the opening ceremonies of the shows. Wang Dongping, general manager of the Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Greenhouse in Dandong, made a detailed account of how the immortal flowers came into being in the world. He evinced his determination to widely propagate the flowers and contribute what little he could to significantly decorating the "year of Sino-DPRK friendship". Yang Hongzhun, general manager of the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Greenhouse in Hunchun, warmly hailed the opening of the immortal flower show, adding that the show would greatly contribute to making the "year of Sino-DPRK friendship" more significant and promoting the friendship between the two countries and developing the exchange in flower cultivation. He noted that the above-mentioned flowers are being rapidly propagated not only in China but in different countries of the world. The general manager of a foreign economic trade company in Shenyang expressed belief that the immortal flowers loved by humankind will be in fuller bloom in different parts of the world, renewing the will of the company to make every possible effort to propagate the flowers worldwide. A letter to General Secretary Kim Jong Il was adopted at the remembrance meeting held under the sponsorship of the Institute for Korean Studies in Liaoning Province. |
