The Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, his staff members and Chinese students were present there on invitation.

Present there were officials concerned and students from different universities here.

Speakers at the gathering referred to the fact that the DPRK-China friendship provided by the revolutionaries of the elder generation is now daily developing on good terms under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries.

They expressed belief that the events taking place on the occasion of "year of DPRK-China friendship" would mark an occasion of deepening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

There was an art performance given by students of the DPRK and Chinese students at the gathering.

A quiz on Chinese idioms was followed by colorful sports and amusement games.

There was also a basketball game between Korean and Chinese students.

Prior to the gathering, the participants placed floral baskets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mt. Ryongnam and paid tribute to him.
