Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Cha Sang Bo, vice-chairman of the General Association of Koreans in China, issued a statement on May 3 in denunciation of the fascist action of the Lee Myung Bak group, which imposed heavy penalties on leading members of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration of south Korea after labeling it as an "enemy-benefiting organization" by dint of the notorious "National Security Law". The statement said that the solidarity is a legitimate pro-reunification movement organization as it has taken the lead in the struggle to defend and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, drive the U.S. forces out of south Korea and realize democracy there and achieve the reconciliation and unity between the north and the south. The crackdown upon the solidarity and its leading members goes to prove that the Lee group's fascist violence for totally obliterating the pro-reunification movement organizations and progressive forces in south Korea has reached an extremely grave phase, it pointed out. With this group left intact, the independent reunification movement will be violently trampled down in south Korea and the entire nation will face disaster, the statement said, adding: The Koreans in China will more vigorously wage the struggle to foil the Lee group's brutal fascist suppression of the solidarity and other pro-reunification democratic forces from all walks of life in south Korea in the future, too. The Lee group should immediately stop its crackdown upon the progressive pro-reunification movement organizations and release the unreasonably detained patriotic figures at once, mindful that if it persists in confrontation and fascism, going against the entire nation's desire for reunification, it will be doomed to self-destruction. |
