The festival opened on May 5 involved a contest in various designs for putting structures on a formative and artistic basis including blueprints for laying out provincial seats, cities and county seats and designs for indoor football gymnasiums and railway stations, a presentation of scientific papers in the fields of architecture and construction and a contest in architectural design programs and multimedia.

Entries into the festival included nearly 200 designs presented to the contest, at least 260 scientific papers and more than 40 programs and multimedia.

A closing ceremony was held at the Central Youth Hall on May 8.
