Pyongyang, May 10 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea issued a statement on May 7 to lash out at the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' fascist crackdown upon the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon). The statement noted that on the same day the "Intelligence Service" and the police staged a large-scale operation of seizure and search into the said headquarters and arrested its chairman and other leading members on charges of the violation of the "National Security Law." The Lee Myung Bak "government" and the security authorities committed such fascist violence, branding its patriotic activities as "anti-state organization's activities of several years," it pointed out. It said that the suppression is a revelation of their insidious intention to whip up the "new terror-ridden atmosphere" in a bid to prevent the all-people struggle for punishment of Lee Myung Bak growing stronger as the days go by. The Lee Myung Bak "government" should be clearly mindful that such anachronistic frantic moves will only precipitate the stern punishment by the entire nation and all the south Korean people, the statement warned. It declared that the solidarity bitterly condemns the above-said suppression and will more valiantly conduct the all-people struggle for defending and implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration in unison with all other pro-reunification patriotic forces. Meanwhile, the Kwangju and South Jolla Provincial Federation of Pomminryon and other civic and public organizations in Kwangju and South Jolla Province called a press conference on the same day to denounce the suppression as an anti-reunification deed of throwing a wet blanket over the reunification movement and an open fascist violence intended to check the people's resistance against the dictatorial "government" by dint of the "National Security Law", an outdated evil law. |
