The statement said that the Lee Myung Bak group which labeled the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations and the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration "enemy-benefiting organizations" kicked off a frantic campaign of arrest against pro-reunification movement organizations again this time. By doing so, it once again fully disclosed its sinister intention to arrest the south Korean people's struggle for democracy and totally eliminate pro-reunification patriotic forces, the statement said, and went on:

The group of traitors' wholesale suppression of the organization is a despicable, treacherous and anti-reunification action as it is designed to desperately hamstring the implementation of the north-south joint declaration desired by the entire nation.

The U.S. Regional Headquarters of Pomminryon in a statement on May 8 denounced the Lee group for perpetrating a massive search operation against the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and arresting the chairman of the organization and its leading members on charges of violation of the "National Security Law" on May 7.

The Lee group is incriminating the actions for the country's reunification and cracking down upon them as it is totally denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and steeped in the idea of sycophancy and submission in a desperate bid to stay in power, it noted, demanding the Lee "government" immediately release all the arrested people including members of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon, lend an ear to the voices of the people and the history and opt for implementing the above-said declarations.
