Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea published the 35th issue of its bulletin titled "DPRK, Chollima in the past and a great revolutionary surge today." The bulletin carried a picture of the Chollima Statue. The bulletin in an article said that there is in Pyongyang a statue depicting Chollima, a legendary winged horse flying high into the sky, adding that the horse represents the desire and spirit of the Korean people to advance at a higher tempo to achieve a higher goal, bringing about uninterrupted leap forward and innovations. In the middle of the last century the Korean people made an astonishing progress by energetically dashing in the spirit of Chollima, the article noted, and continued: The Korean people have turned out in the campaign to open a gate to a thriving nation without fail in 2012, the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, the father of socialist Korea, by effecting the same new great revolutionary surge as they did in those days. A Chollima movement, the first of its kind in the DPRK, could be launched in the post-war period entirely thanks to the single-minded unity between the leader and the people. The workers in Kangson produced 120,000 tons of steel slab from a blooming mill with a rated capacity of 60,000 tons in hearty response to the call of the President. The torch of this innovation movement was spread all over the country in a moment and the Korean people brought about a great revolutionary surge, sharing their will and breath with the President. General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the Chollima Steel Complex on December 24, 2008 that is more than 50 years since then, kindling the torch of a new great revolutionary surge. The DPRK stunned the world with the great Chollima upswing in the post-war period. The international community will witness what miracles and dynamic progress the DPRK will bring about by effecting a new revolutionary surge on the basis of the strong political and military might. |
