Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

The deviation from the north-south joint declarations is a grave act of treachery as it means pursuing sycophancy and dependence on outside forces, while doing harm to the national sovereignty and dignity and denying the idea of "By our nation itself," the sacred idea of independence.

It is, at the same time, a dangerous anti-peace act aimed at escalating the military confrontation on the Korean Peninsula, deteriorating the situation and bringing the danger of a nuclear war and an unpardonable act of standing in the way of the development of the north-south relations and the country's reunification.

The Lee Myung Bak group groundlessly described the point referring to peaceful reunification of the June 15 joint declaration as a point calling for "reunification through communization" and asserted that it should be "abrogated" and dismissed the points of the October 4 declaration calling for terminating the military hostile relations and setting up a lasting peace mechanism as "premature" and refused to implement it.

The reality goes to eloquently prove that any departure from the above-said declarations is bound to push the inter-Korean relations to the phase of collapse and render it impossible to achieve national reconciliation and unity and the country's reunification.

All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should hold fast to the said declarations, the sacred banner of the independent national reunification, and intensify the struggle to implement them.
