The declaration deplored that democracy and people's livelihood have been violated and the people's desire for peace and reunification mercilessly trampled down in south Korea due to the Lee Myung Bak "government's" misrule.

Owing to the "government's" confrontation policy, the inter-Korean relations have been extremely deteriorated and dark clouds of war are getting denser in the Korean Peninsula, it pointed out.

It stressed that the elders who have dedicated themselves to the movement for social democracy and reunification would actively turn out in the struggle to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and realize independence, democracy and reunification.

Lee Myung Bak is mistaken if he intends to check the activities of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and other progressive forces by violence, the declaration said, stressing that the reunification movement will grow stronger and emerge victorious without fail.
