Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The Network of Civic and Public Organizations to Defend Democracy and Check the Suppression under the pretext of "security" grouping more than 80 civic and public organizations including the Solidarity for Progress, the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Confederation of Trade Unions of south Korea, and the People's Council for Livelihood and Democracy made up of more than 500 civic and public organizations held a joint press conference in Seoul on May 20 denouncing the Lee Myung Bak puppet group of traitors' reckless suppression.
The press release read out at the press conference disclosed that the police specified and kicked up a racket for arresting 2,500 persons from all walks of life as "habitual demonstrators," while mercilessly suppressing rallies and demonstrations after labeling them "illegal ones."
Deploring that rallies and demonstrations are being incriminated on this land, the press release demanded the puppet authorities stop at once such fascist crackdown as letting policemen brandish lethal weapons against the citizens in their just struggle.
Action programs of the organizations were made public at the press conference.
