Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The suprapartisan U.S. Congressional Commission was reported recently to have worked out and presented a "report on the strategic nuclear posture" the keynote of which is the assertion that the U.S. should have a "powerful and trustworthy nuclear deterrent" till a "radical change has taken place in the world political order" as a world free from nukes is far off. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: The above-said report, in essence, serves as an anti-peace document as it calls for the beefing of modern nuclear forces and the stepped-up policy of nuclear blackmail. Referring to the fact that voices criticizing and ridiculing the U.S. are heard from Western media, the commentary says: This tone goes to prove that the U.S. nuclear policy is unjust and obviously the U.S. is entirely to blame for spreading nukes and posing the nuclear threat worldwide. It was the U.S. that manufactured nuclear weapons, imposing a nuclear holocaust upon mankind for the first time in the world. It is again the U.S. which has the greatest stockpile of nukes and missiles in the world and threatens and blackmails other countries with them. The Korean Peninsula, in particular, is fraught with the biggest nuclear threat and the danger of a nuclear war posed by the U.S. The U.S. keeps the DPRK within the striking range of its nuclear weapons and missiles in south Korea and in its vicinity and on its mainland. The nuclear and missile threat to the DPRK is coming from the U.S. and it is the root cause of the nuclear threat and the danger of a nuclear war mounting on the Korean Peninsula. With nothing can it excuse itself for them. The world sees through the criminal nature of the U.S. wholly to blame for the nuclear threat to it and remains highly vigilant against its moves. The U.S. would be well advised to roll back its anti-peace double-dealing nuclear policy, paying heed to the above-mentioned Western media's criticism and derision of it. |
