The statement asserted that the recent nuclear test conducted by the DPRK amounted to a clear and just reaction to the UNSC's stand of arrogantly turning down the demand of the DPRK for retracting all the "resolutions" and decisions adopted against the DPRK and making an apology for them.

The statement referred to the fact that the DPRK has the right to test nuclear weapons and missiles and other weapons selected by it in order to defend its sovereignty and territory as is the case with all other sovereign states.

The U.S. and Japan, the sworn enemies of the Korean people, are threatening to apply additional sanctions against the DPRK through the UNSC but they can never bring the DPRK to its knees, the statement warned, and continued:

We vehemently denounce the moves of the UNSC and other bodies against the DPRK, terming them a crime and a declaration of war against it.

We regard Western media's smear campaign against the DPRK as an act of aggression because it is nothing but a product of the U.S. plot.

The DPRK's recent nuclear test constitutes another shining victory of the Songun politics pursued by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
