Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed article.

The said declarations are, to all intents and purposes, declarations on national independence to realize all Koreans' desire and wishes for independence, the article notes, and goes on:

All Koreans should hold aloft the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration in order to independently solve the issues of the inter-Korean relations and reunification free from outside forces' interference according to the will to achieve independence.

These declarations are patriotic ones aimed to develop the inter-Korean relations, reunify the country and achieve the co-prosperity of the nation.

They clearly indicate the practical ways for the north and the south to achieve reconciliation and unity, advance towards the reunification and bring about the prosperity common to the nation through mutual cooperation as they have stood in confrontation for decades since the division.

They are declarations on protecting peace as they pave a wide avenue for easing tension on the Korean Peninsula and achieving the country's durable peace.

These inter-Korean declarations specify tasks and ways to remove the danger of a war and ensure lasting peace on the peninsula. They reflect all Koreans' wishes for the peace of the country and its peaceful reunification.

The U.S. and its lackey the Lee Myung Bak regime are still persistent in their moves against reunification because they are escalating the confrontation and tension on the peninsula, opposed to the historic inter-Korean declarations and standing in the way of implementing them.

With no machination, however, can the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad stamp out the validity and vitality of the said-declarations or quell the will to support and uphold these declarations rooted deep in the minds of all Koreans at home and abroad.
