Infant Prodigies of Music

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- There are many musical infant prodigies in the DPRK. Among them are Yu Pyol Mi and Yun Il studying at the primary class of Pyongyang School of Music and Dance. The piano technique of Yu Pyol Mi, eight, strikes people with admiration. Gifted with musical talent, she was called piano prodigy from her kindergarten years and was screened by TV at the age of six. She, who is quick in playing music without practice and correct in sound detection, has prominent playing technique and creative ability. She has composed more than 20 works including "The Sun and Little Flower" and "Rays of Love". Born into an ordinary worker's family, Yun Il is also famous as violin child prodigy. Having received elementary music education at Pyongyang Taedongmun Kindergarten, he has reached the expert level in a long memory, sensitive faculties and delicate emotional expression. People admire at the unique playing technique and rich musical depiction of the ten-year-old child when he performs songs including "We Will Be Loyal Down through Generations" and "Children's Union March". General Secretary Kim Jong Il, with loftiest outlook on the rising generation, saw for himself the performances of the infant prodigies, highly spoke of them and blessed their future. The Juche-oriented art will be further flourished by the musical child prodigies who are polishing their musical talent to the heart's content under the care of the DPRK. |
