Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain made public a statement on May 28 in support of the successful nuclear test conducted by the DPRK. Noting that it is a sovereign right of the DPRK to conduct a nuclear test and, therefore, there is no reason for anyone to interfere in it, the statement said: It is the U.S. that was the first to test a nuclear weapon in the world and has the world's biggest stockpile of nukes. The U.S. accusation against the DPRK over its nuclear test only reveals the U.S. double standards. Recalling that the five permanent members of the UNSC that chided the DPRK's nuclear test are the biggest nuclear weapons states and some countries, too, are pushing ahead with their clandestine nuclear programs, the statement went on: The DPRK has stood for several decades in confrontation with the U.S. imperialists which have threatened it with nuclear weapons. It has not sat idle, just waiting for the U.S. imperialists to destroy it, but has bolstered up its reliable nuclear deterrent while developing the Juche-oriented nuclear power industry. The recent nuclear test constituted a great victory of the DPRK as it helped further augment its national defence capability. We vehemently denounce the U.S. and its followers for kicking up all sorts of rows over the DPRK's nuclear test and call upon the world progressive people to fully support the Korean people in their just cause. |
