The bulletin in an article titled "Leader Kim Jong Il lays down firm stand of independence on the cause of national reunification" said that the Korean people has dynamically advanced the cause of national reunification, foiling every challenge and move of the separatist forces inside and outside south Korea under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself," the banner of independence.

The bulletin recalled that Kim Jong Il in his work "Let Us Struggle Resolutely to Implement the Three Principles of National Reunification" made public on July 14, 1972 called for firmly adhering to the three principles of national reunification under any difficult and complicated situation in the future and carrying on the struggle for national reunification strictly on these principles.

Kim Jong Il said that what is the most important for observing the above-mentioned principles is to hold aloft the banner of independence, the bulletin noted, adding that the cause of national reunification is sure to be accomplished thanks to the firm independent stand clarified by him.

No matter how desperately the anti-reunification forces challenge and obstruct the cause of Korean reunification, all Koreans will surely accomplish it under the banner of "By our nation itself," declared the bulletin.
